Day of the dead - Mexico City

We were in Mexico City a in the week leading up to the Days of the dead on November 1st and 2nd, the city was still in party mode letting off fireworks at night and building alters in every available space.

The square in Mexico city was full of alters done by certain businesses. These were some of the most impressive ones we saw. Here are the pics.

Most of the displays use, yellow flowers, pine needles, paper mache and skulls made from sugar. Those things on the bottom are bees.
This one was done by the cinema
This one was one of my favs, it was really big and hard to photograph though.
There were a few shady characters about.
The Mexico public transport one was awesome.
It even had a dead punk on board.
I liked the floor displays, some were really impressive. This one was done with beans and flower petals.
This image is everywhere, its diego rivera's skeleton bride, this was a cool one.
